The Tomb of Mughal Emperor Jahangir
The tomb of Jahangir was built after the Mughal emperor’s death in 1627 and completed in 1637, in the reign of his son and successor, Shah Jahan, when the Mughal Empire held sway over the entire Indian LOCATION Jahangir situated in Shahdara Lahore and Makbara Jahangir built by Shah Jahan. The tomb of Jahangir is located in Shahdara northwest of the walled city of Lahore. This tomb is reached by crossing the Ravi River from Lahore in a rural area known for its many recreational gardens. The grave is located in Nur Jahans Recreational Garden, Dilkusha Garden, which was built in 1557. HISTORY Repair works were undertaken at the tomb in 1814 according to Sikh court records.
